Kate Bush ,Cantante británica



Nació el 30 de julio de 1958 en Londres. Se crió en el seno de una familia de músicos, aprendió a tocar el piano y escribió sus primeras canciones con once años. Fue una niña prodigio. Con sólo 13 años ya había compuesto más de 100 canciones. David Gilmour, uno de los componentes de Pink Floyd, envío una cinta con varios de sus temas a los directivos de la compañía discográfica EMI Records que la ofrecieron un acuerdo, según el cual recibió 3.500 libras esterlinas por seguir formándose bajo la tutela del sello. A los dieciséis grabó unas demos tutelada por Andrew Powell y de David Gilmour. Este último fue el productor ejecutivo de dos de los temas de su primer álbum, "The man with the child in his eyes" y "The saxophone song". Su primer trabajo fue el single "Wuthering heights" editado en enero de 1978 llegó a n.1 en Inglaterra. Sale el álbun The kick inside. El siguiente single "The man with the child in his eyes" llegó al n.6 de las listas inglesas. Un año más tarde graba Lionheart, del que se extrajeron dos singles, "Hammer horror", n.44, y "Wow". En 1980 aparece Never for ever. "Breathing" fue el primer single. Le siguió "Babooshka" y "Army dreamers". A finales de los 80, publica un single "December will be magic again" y aparece The dreaming. "Sat in your lap", "The dreaming" y el tercer single "There goes a tenner" En 1985 aparece su nuevo proyecto Hounds of love. Su primer single "Running up that hill", uno de los clásicos, llega al n.3. fue el álbum lo que le proporcionó una mayor notoriedad y éxito comercial. Un año más tarde, en 1986, EMI publica su primer "Grandes éxitos". Su título The whole story. The sensual world, aparece en 1989. El siguiente es "This woman's work" que pasa casi desapercibido. En el 91, aparece un disco de homenaje a Elton John, donde participa con "Rocket man" y cuya cara B contiene "Candle in the wind". En 1993 aparece The red shoes.
